(Dan Tri) – There were 6 out of 8 Chinese passengers among the more than 2,000 people on the fateful Titanic who survived the terrible sinking disaster in the Atlantic Ocean.

More than 100 years later, their chances of survival and their life stories are partly revealed through the latest documentary titled `The Six` (6 people).
The super-ship Titanic, built in 1909 and launched in 1912, was known as the `unsinkable ship`.
More than 1,500 people were killed, marking the most serious maritime accident in peacetime.
Mr. Steven Schwankert, an American historian, still clearly remembers the day he watched the blockbuster movie Titanic in a crowded, smoky cinema in Beijing, China.
`The cinema back then was not impressive, like watching a movie in a small high school gym. The sound was unclear, the image was a bit out of focus… Of course there was no popcorn,` he said.

In addition to this 1997 classic film Titanic, many documentaries about this disaster have been released.

Schwankert is a maritime historian, expert on shipwrecks and author of the book titled `Poseidon: China’s Secret Salvage of Britain’s Lost Submarine`.
Eight Chinese people were on the ship at that time and there were 6 survivors.
The documentary by British director Arthur Jones lasts 97 minutes, tracing the traces of 6 surviving passengers.
Mr. Schwankert said, the anti-Asian sentiment in 1912 is similar to the discrimination and discrimination against Asians in the context of the current Covid-19 epidemic, and this shows that a historical problem has reappeared.
