What is the Taliban’s government like?
When the Taliban took control of the country, they vowed to build a more moderate government.
That is the Taliban’s exclusive cabinet, with many positions held by people with hard-line Islamic views, some of whom are on the United Nations and US terrorist lists.
In reality, the Taliban have adopted a hard-line, conservative stance, reintroducing executions and brutal punishments for criminals.
`Everyone criticizes us about the penalties in the stadium, but we have never said anything about the law and their punishments,` Mr. Turabi said.
The Taliban’s release of thousands of prisoners, including senior leaders of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda and the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS), increases the risk of terrorism.
One of the other major concerns of countries is drug trafficking.
How do countries react?

The moves of China, Russia and a number of other countries both before and after the Taliban took power have raised speculation about the influence these countries will have on Afghanistan after US troops leave.
China is considered the most likely, but so far it has taken a watch-and-wait approach.

Russia also has a calm but cautious approach.
