(Dan Tri) – President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine needs to `significantly accelerate` the transfer of weapons from partners in the face of the wave of attacks by Russian troops on the front lines.

`We need to significantly accelerate supplies to significantly improve the capabilities of our soldiers,` President Zelensky declared in a speech on the evening of April 30.

Referring to the areas in eastern and northeastern Ukraine where fighting is still intense, President Zelensky said these are the areas where Russia is putting pressure and Kiev forces must repel the enemy.
President Zelensky declared that Ukraine will not let Russia `dominate` the fronts, but instead will have Kiev’s `air defense systems, artillery and drones` appear.
President Zelensky said he held several meetings on April 30 on military issues, and discussed Ukraine’s plans to `disrupt Russia’s plans and achieve its goals.`
The Ukrainian leader also said he discussed with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov about supplying weapons and contacting international partners.
Ukraine has faced an increasingly difficult situation on the battlefield in recent weeks, as well as an increase in Russian airstrikes.

Russian forces have recently stepped up offensive operations in eastern Ukraine, taking control of many villages after claiming the city of Avdiivka in February.
